It's been a while since I've given a status update on my writing projects, so here goes:
THIRTEEN: I'm currently going thru my awesome critique partner's suggested comments and finalizing edits. It will be polished to the nth degree in July. I'm polishing and getting ready to send my proposal to agent Lucienne Diver at The Knight Agency (as the winner of her Brenda Novak Diabetes Auction package).
DARK MAGIC RISING (formerly HEART OF DARKNESS): I started this novel so long ago, got lost along the way, changed direction in plot and theme, divorced, moved, wrote two other books in between. Lo and behold, on 6/9/08 I finished the first draft! It took only 54 pages to complete, and it's quite long at 132,000 words, but I'll trim that down in revisions.
DARK MAGIC RISING is an urban fantasy with romantic elements, that will take you on a passion-filled journey of murder, Druid magic and one woman's discovery.
I've always thought this book had a lot of potential (especially now that the Urban Fantasy genre is hot) and that's why it never left my head. So I'm excited that I took the plunge to finish it rather than move onto something new. It needed to be finished. Now I have months of revising and editing, but that's the fun part!!
That's what I'm up to!!
Happy Father's Day to all you Dads!
