All Together Dead is another solid chapter in Sookie Stackhouse's new life among the vampies and shapeshifters in the Southern Vampire series. In this episode, Sookie returns to helping the vampires again and there's less focus on shapeshifters, which I like! However, Ms. Harris introduced a new plot point (a sub-secondary plot point) that I don't care for. I'm sure it will make a comeback in successive books, which I hope not. It lends a new fantasy feel that is unnecessary. I won't spoil it by saying what it is for those who haven't read the installment.
I liked this book better than the last one, Definitely Dead. There seemed to be a bit more action. But these last two books have been a little flat to me. I don't know if it's because nothing seems to phase Sookie any longer in her land of weird, or if the storyline is growing stale. Or is it just me because I seem to be reading books with a more critical eye (as a reader/writer). Whatever!
Read it, you won't be disappointed. Rating: 3.25 out of 5.
