My urban fantasy/futuristic romance novel Thirteen placed 1st in the Dixie First Chapter Contest in the Paranormal/Futuristic category!!!! The best news is: Chris Keeslar of Dorchester Publishing (final round judge) requested the manuscript! Woohooo! I totally never expected it to get this far. I'm so freakin' excited. Anyways, I'm sprucing up the synopsis and will submit it and a partial to him (ummm....yeah, the full's not done since I put Thirteen aside to finish "Druid Island" for my current publisher. This tactic was done in full awareness of the possibilities here. I just had a burning need to finish "Druid Island" for reasons I won't go into.
On that note, I've worked feverishly on "Druid Island" revisions and am 2 weeks away from completion. Then I'll send it to a freelance editor who will give it a second look/critique/edit/the works. Once I've shipped it off to the freelance editor, I'm back working on Thirteen. Of course, I'll have Chasing Shadow edits going on too now that I have a CP editor again! Whew....then of course, there's my vacation....busy is me.

"Savannah Breeze" Review
Review: Savannah Breeze by Mary Kay Andrews (Women's Mainstream fiction)
If you've read Mary Kay Andrews' 3 other books you will love this one. I had a mediocre review of her last one, Hissy Fit, but this latest installment brought back that fun, fuzzy feeling I get reading Ms. Andrews. It's fast, light but full of substance and a blast to read. I just love Ms. Andrews' wit and style (especially after reading dark fantasy) and I can't wait to read her next one.
Savannah Breeze picks up the story of BeBe Loudermilk introduced in Savannah Blues and takes the reader on a wild and wacky ride of revenge with a little romance thrown in the backseat. I suggest you read Savannah Blues first since the 2 main characters from that story, Weezie & Daniel, are prominant in Savannah Breeze. However, both books are standalone and can be read without reading the other. Rating: 4 out of 5

Woohoo....an editor!
Just got word (finally), that I have an editor for Chasing Shadows. She's a brand new editor starting with EC/CP in July and we should be in communication in the next few weeks. The feelings of abandonment are subsiding!
The good news about the delays...it's given me a chance to finish & revise another book earlier than I planned!
Happy Sunday!

Sookie Strikes Again...Review
All Together Dead is another solid chapter in Sookie Stackhouse's new life among the vampies and shapeshifters in the Southern Vampire series. In this episode, Sookie returns to helping the vampires again and there's less focus on shapeshifters, which I like! However, Ms. Harris introduced a new plot point (a sub-secondary plot point) that I don't care for. I'm sure it will make a comeback in successive books, which I hope not. It lends a new fantasy feel that is unnecessary. I won't spoil it by saying what it is for those who haven't read the installment.
I liked this book better than the last one, Definitely Dead. There seemed to be a bit more action. But these last two books have been a little flat to me. I don't know if it's because nothing seems to phase Sookie any longer in her land of weird, or if the storyline is growing stale. Or is it just me because I seem to be reading books with a more critical eye (as a reader/writer). Whatever!
Read it, you won't be disappointed. Rating: 3.25 out of 5.
