Debut Book: The Forest of Hands and Teeth

This debut book is high on my to-be-read pile. It sounds fantastic!

Title: The Forest of Hands and Teeth (click to buy at Amazon.com)
Author: Carrie Ryan
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
Publisher: Delacorte Books
Release Date: March 10, 2009
Format: Hardcover

In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. When the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her future—between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a world surrounded in so much death?

Altogether Now: Let's Spell B-U-S-Y.

Let's just say that my life is super-duper busy right now, both in the day job arena and in the writing sphere. I won't go into the reasons for the crazy writing work just yet. And you know I'll never talk about my day job! I'll share more about the writing project with my little blog followers soon! Suffice it to say that the Dark Magic Rising rewrite is on a short, temporary hiatus.

The great agent hunt is still on, although I have a few pans in the fire. Wish me luck!!

Happy Spring! My favorite season is here!

Debut Book: Fire at Midnight

Periodically, I'm going to feature a new or debut book release from authors I've met along my journeys on the internet and writing conferences. Please support them as you would me. Here's my first entry, with an absolutely beautiful cover!

Title: Fire at Midnight (click to Buy at Amazon.com)
Genre: Historical Romance
Publisher: Medallion Press
Release Date: March 1, 2009
Format: Mass Market Paperback

Rachael Penrose is confined to Bedlam insane asylum in London after discovering that her uncle Victor plans to kill her brother in order to inherit the family fortune. Victor, with a gang of criminals, uses French privateer Sebastien Falconer as the scapegoat for his crimes. When Victor spreads the lie that Rachael informed on Falconer’s smuggling activities, Falconer vows revenge on the girl. Gripping suspense and romance play out in front of numerous historical details, including a violent storm that devastated England in 1703 and swept the Eddystone Lighthouse into the sea.
